3:2 Jump in

Hey y’all!!! I’m going to miss hearing y’all LoL!! Today was pretty chill for me. I rested more and allowed myself to be ok with doing that. I didn’t realize how much my lifestyle was based on service. So now that I’m in a completely different region and season of life, I am going to have to learn how I fit in.

Ok so I couldn’t sit still that long. Ordered me an Uber and off I went to church. My roommate told me about Uberpool so I decided to try it out tonight, the lady that joined my uber didn’t talk at all. She only said hello when she got in the car and thank you when she left. No eye contact or pleasant smile. That drove me crazy not to talk to people. So when I got “there” my driver dropped me off across the street from it, mind you this is an extremely busy intersection. I asked him if he could get closer and he said no, so I got out and held my bible and my purse close as I said a prayer. I had to look like I knew where I was going and like a New Yorker while inside I was praying that I wouldn’t get hit by a car or robbed. So let’s just thank God I didn’t get hit but a car seemed like it was very close to me but I wasn’t going to look at them. As I walked inside the church now late, Bible study had already started and I absolutely loved it. We actually studied different stories in a different way and had discussions. I will forever be a life long learner. I love learning! Afterwards I was introduced to THE sweetest people that welcomed me in with open arms. A family even dropped me back home so that I didn’t have to uber again. God has a way of doing things perfectly and timely.

Jump in…. As you learn how to swim, in order for you to even begin the process of learning, you actually have to jump in and get wet. A lot of times we don’t even want to jump in, we just want to hang out around the pool. Do you find yourself waiting for someone to TELL you to jump in, waiting on someone to PUSH you in or you are TERRIFIED to jump in? Either one that you are identifying with, they each require a certain type of person to carry it out.

For example I could’ve told myself that you should get all settled in before going to visit churches, or do more research on the area of town of these churches, rest more or even it’s absolutely too cold to be out tonight. But I decided to jump in because I’ve decided that my walk with God should not depend on how I feel or others. If you’re struggling with jumping in… ask yourself the discussion questions that I will post at the bottom.

This was my outfit for tonight! I had on gloves and eventually put on my hood while I was standing outside waiting for the sweet wife of the husband that dropped me off at home. We actually got snow today and it was such a sight for me to see in person.

3:2 Discussion questions…

  1. What are you holding back from jumping into? Whether it be a goal, your purpose or something that you are fearful of doing. Identify that and pray directly towards that to break that chain on fear.
  2. Do you think that you are only affected by the fear of you jumping in?

‘Til next time my loves remember to jump in and learn the process of what God is trying to teach you so that you can teach others.

3:2 No goodbyes

Today has completely filled me up. Even though I cried this morning again, my day has been full of such AMAZING conversations and fellowship.

As I chatted with one of the young ladies from my church whom I absolutely love, we talked about when it’s time to depart from others and how difficult it can be. This is her senior year and she’s feeling the same way I am. But we are both hopeful that we will see each other again. We ended our conversation with laughter, hugs and a see you later!!

My dear sweet friend took me to lunch today and the conversation was so timely and full of confirmations and “GIRL I haven’t verbalized that to anyone before only God knows that I thought about that” types of moments where God was speaking through her. My mouth dropped several times and the blessings that I received just warmed my heart. So much came from our time together and I thank God for our special friendship.

My last see you later moment was with my women’s small group family. It’s just something about when people lay their hands on you and pray over you. I absolutely LOVE these ladies SO MUCH!! They are truly my inspirations, prayer warriors, protectors and so much more. God knew that I needed each of them for such a time as this. Oh yeah and I DEFINITELY cried like a baby tonight.

I got to say see you later to so many people this week and it just makes my heart so full knowing that I am leaving my legacy and brought some change/spice to my church family.

God is showing me more glimpses of who He is and reminding me that He sees me. God sees what you need and all that you are doing for the Kingdom. He knows that it’s not easy but His rewards are unbelievable. Stay in His will for your life by being obedient and saying YES when He tells you to do something. I’m living proof. Watch God happen.

Stay tuned for more……
‘Til next time my loves remember to say see you later and not goodbye. Goodbye is permanent and see you later is temporary.

3:2 Write it down

If you know me, then you know that I LOVE to write. I LOVE journals and pens!!! Pens just make my world so much better!

This pen was a gift from my friend Jessica.

Ever since I can remember, I have loved to write. I especially enjoyed writing on walls at home and furniture and yes I did get whooped for that. When I began to journal in high school, it helped me pour out my heart in a way that I felt safe. Sharing what was going on inside of me with others was not something I felt comfortable doing. Once I got to college, journaling was quickly replaced with all of my Biology and Chemistry notes, new friends and a new environment for me to try to change my past. Yeah that didn’t work out very well but during those years, I thought I was really changing and doing better. Oooh boy was I wrong!!

Next comes post graduation life aka the real world with real bills and real struggles. I found myself trying to get back into the journaling swing of life but that was short lived. There were too many new things going on around me. I moved to a new city hours away from home, I had a real full-time job in a career that I didn’t even go to school for or any training, dating and new friends on top of so much more. I was all over the place and distracted by so much. During that season I was depressed, broken down even more, faced failure in the most difficult and trying way possible. Inspite of that I pushed through all of the pain into God and truly desired a real intimate relationship with Him. I never had a real intimate relationship with Him before and only with a few people in my life up to that point.

As you read the title of this post Write it down, what came to mind? Well God downloads information inside of us that He wants us to bring it to life with our uniqueness that He has created within us. Only you can do what God has designed for you to do in a way that only you can with your personality and looks. Nobody else can do what you are called to do like you can. I REALLY want for you to get what I’m saying because I know that someone that is reading this post needs this. I have struggled pretty much my whole life with identity issues and how I didn’t understand why I looked this way and not like others. Especially when it came to my personality, I am am extremely silly person that is very spunky but at the same time I can go real deep with you in .005 seconds. A lot of people aren’t use to that and I included myself in that because I wasn’t use to it due to never meeting anyone like myself. God has used my personality in mind blowing ways that I am grateful for. He knew that I could only cross paths with certain people that needed to experience Jesus through the Spirit that’s within me and the way that I deliver it all.

So let’s get back to the title. I was told several times tonight that I need to write down the visions that God has shown me so that I won’t get distracted and off course. Ask God to reveal the different parts to your vision meaning who is apart of it and what you are desiring. My main take away from tonight’s Bible study was I can’t share my vision with everyone. God will release me to tell those individuals that will be apart of it. Everyone can’t handle and understand what God is doing in your life. He will separate you in order to elevate you to the level that He needs you on. That was for somebody 😊

3:2 Discussion question for tonight… Have you created a vision board for this year and wrote out the plan for it? Disclaimer… your plans and God’s plans may not match up and His plans will ALWAYS overthrow yours any day so make sure that you hold very loosely to your plans and trust that if God throws you a curveball, you will be ok with His greater plan.

Proverbs 16:3 NIV Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.

‘Til next time my loves remember to grab your favorite pen and sit quiet before God and let Him pour into you!!!

Oh and let’s just say that I DEFINITELY made up for the fewer tears that I shed on yesterday… Today – signed the big cry baby!

3:2 Leaving my legacy

Let me start off by saying I have been THE biggest cry baby today. I’m not sure if you’ve ever been in my current situation and how God is moving you from your familiar into the unknown. My time back in Houston has been full of mind blowing experiences.

From not having a job when I moved back to how God used me to mentor so many children and adults, has definitely played a HUGE part of why I was such a cry baby today. The start of Hey! G.I.R.L. last year has taken off at a rapid pace.

I didn’t realize how much of an impact that I was making. Today I was taken to lunch by my little mentee’s. God knew that we needed each other. Even though they are sad, upset and confused about how God calls us to do things that we don’t understand at the moment but all in due timing He will reveal it to us.

I know that my legacy will continue to illuminate in Houston as I depart to my next assignment. The evidence of God is my legacy that will be still be in place years and years from now. It is so humbling that God decided to use me to show people that He is the only way.

Be prepared for lots of pictures from some of my assignments in Houston. I am so honored and blessed to have met some amazing individuals. There’s no way that I could post all my pictures. I tried to put them in chronological order as much as I could. Enjoy and there’s 2 questions at the end.

UPDATE… God uses plain ordinary people to do extraordinary things!

WoW I can’t believe that it has been a year since I posted about God using us to do extraordinary things. So much has occurred since that post. Please click on link and read it before you proceed to read this post God uses plain ordinary people to do extraordinary things!!!

Ok WELCOME BACK!!! SO.MUCH.HAS.HAPPENED. Well let me get right into it. I was given a vision by God to start up a ministry on September 22,2015. At first I was super excited and ready to spring into action but then the enemy took over. I’m not saying that I turned into this crazy woman but my passion and purpose was attacked and I couldn’t figure out why I stopped pursing my God-given vision.

After reading Fervent by Priscilla Shirer it was revealed to me why I stopped pursing my purpose. Satan knew that by me walking in my purpose that I would going against his plan. He knew I am a force that will be victorious. Shedding tears of frustration and formulating a battle plan, empowered me to fight for my purpose! So 5 months later I stepped out on faith and presented this ministry to the youth minister at my church. Since then SO MUCH has happened. God has huge things in store for this ministry and I’m so humbled and blessed to be a vessel to carry His vision out.

My biggest update is that on August 12-13,2016 I will be hosting my very first City- wide sleepover conference. I would have never guessed that in a million years that I would be hosting anything. There are so many emotions that I am experiencing leading up to the sleepover. I am SUPER PUMPED to see what God is going to do. He is definitely working on me and my trust levels. Throughout this year so many mind blowing opportunities have been given to me and I can’t wait to see what happens with them all. You’ll just have to stay tuned in to find out….

I know that I haven’t been blogging as much as I use to, but I will be posting more again. I’ve been extremely busy making moves walking in my purpose. Love you all and thank you for your support. ❤

Check out my ministry website Hey! G.I.R.L.

Feel free to leave a comment below on your yearly update. I would love to see how God is working in your lives!!!

The world premiere of your story!!

image

How many of you have ever been apart of a play or a movie? In order for you to get into character, you had to prepare and maybe get some background knowledge about your character in order to become your new character. A lot of times it’s harder to relate with some characters than others. This ties into singing as well. Learning new songs or genres can be a bit challenging at first. The more you practice and study the material, it becomes like second nature. You can apply that to anything in your life because we are all faced with challenges and areas of growth.

As Christians, we are called live a life that should be a witness to others. Whether you think your life is worth sharing or not, our lives should be the greatest testimony of all times. If you think about where you have come from to this very moment, God has done some tremendous work in your life. If you are thinking “my life is a hot mess right now”, please don’t blame God as the cause of it all. However you choose to look at it, it is all for a greater purpose that God wants you to add to your testimony.

As 2015 comes to a roaring end… step out on your stage/set and show your world premiere of your life. I have invited you all to my World Premiere this year to the Life of CANDYCE D. I pray that you have been blessed in ways that I will never know. Most importantly I encourage you to keep working on your life story starring YOU!!! God isn’t finished working on us and has the perfect Love story written for each of us. I am full of joy just thinking about what God has in store for each of us.

In closing, my eyes are filling with tears just seeing how God has guided me to this very moment and answered my deep prayers about spreading His word to other countries.  My blog has been read in almost 30 different countries, 1,000’s+ of views and visitors just in the span of 6 months. I never imagined that happening. God had a greater plan than I did and had the perfect plan.

Jeremiah 29:11 MSG

I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out- plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.

I have never read the Message translation of this verse and I absolutely love it! I have prayed for everyone of you that are reading my blog before I thought of Sweet inspirations by CANDYCE!!! Keep God first and you will NEVER fail. If your 2015 wasn’t what you thought it should be, reflect and see where you can add more Jesus. Your riches and “luck” may not increase but I guarantee if you change your outlook on your situation, God will do the rest. It’s a team effort. GOOOOOOOOOO TEAM!!!! (I apologize my cheerleader came out LOL)

I L❤VE Y’ALL and may you have a BLESSED & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!🎆🎇🎉🎉🎆🎇🎉🎉🎆🎇🎉🎉🎆🎇🎉🎉🎆🎇🎉🎉

‘Tis YOUR season to be jolly…

image

‘Tis the season to be jolly… Fa la la la la la la la la!!! Have you ever thought about what that song means? Well it hit me yesterday while listening to my pastor that speaking about the Christmas season. I thought about my life and how much it has changed within the past year. I can’t believe that it has been a year since I moved back to Houston. God has used me in ways that I would have never imagined.

A thought came to me as ’tis your season (Candyce) to be jolly. Meaning it is hard to accept the seasons of life that you’re in especially when it’s not what you imagined or planned for. But rejoicing in the current season that you are in will produce that joy that only God can give. My life is far from perfect and no  where I thought I wanted to be but I thank God it’s where I need to be. He has shown me so much favor and I will be forever grateful. God has shown me that so many  people need to be exposed to who He is and how He uses me and so many other wonderful Christians to share His love. Even though I will never fully grasp how deep His love is for me, I experience it and I love passing it on. I challenge you to do the same

Now it’s your turn to rejoice in your season whether it’s storming in your life or sunny skies… Learn to be content and full of joy wherever you are. This current season of Celebrating Jesus is more than enough to bring joy to your life.

Matthew 1:23AMP Behold, the virgin shall become pregnant and give birth to a Son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel–which, when translated, means, God with us. [Isa. 7:14.]

God is always with us even when we feel alone. Look at the positives in your life and not your mistakes. Remember mistakes are proof that you’re trying. Keep your head held high and connected to the only source of your life… GOD!!

WISHING YOU AND YOUR FAMILY A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄🎄🎄

You can’t stop now!!!

image

When God created each of us, He designed us for a purpose. Whatever that purpose is, God’s plan is to bring glory to Him and to serve others. We all have a different story which makes us each unique. Have you ever asked “Why this God?” or “Why me?” I have asked those questions quite a bit and still do at times. When you start to ask those questions, God ALWAYS shows you the answers. As I shared with you guys before, my life was turned upside down in order for my new season purpose that I was designed to live out could be fulfilled. I see how everything that I have gone through has prepared me for this season. Have you felt like giving up or when people try and knock you off track due to their own insecurities/negativity? Cling closer to God so that He can fill you back up when you start to feel empty. Not everyone will understand and appreciate your unique gifts and personalities, but remember it’s not all about them! This season of my life has been the most rewarding season because I have not only grown spiritually but I have seen God’s hand over my life. He has guided me from the path of certainties into the path of uncertainties. For that I am forever grateful. The uncertainty moments in life cause you to become stretched and growing in faith. For some that is not a desired or welcomed location but once you think about it, it is all for the best. God wants us all to grow and we can not stay in our same ol comfort zone. I encourage you to seeks Gods plan for your life and diligently work at your purpose. He does not call us to be negative, selfish with our time, stuck in our ways etc, There is someone out there that needs you to use your purpose!

Now let’s talk about when there is a rejection on our part. That’s when bitterness, complaining, negativity and jealously will start to invade your life. We should be so engaged to God’s purpose for our life that all other things should fall by the wayside. You must first and foremost LOVE GOD WITH ALL OF YOUR HEART ❤️. Don’t forget to keep on your God-ggles to stay focused when people and situations try and knock you off course.

Remember to seek God in all situations and YOU CAN’T GIVE UP NOW!!!! WE NEED YOU TO STAY ON TRACK❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

If I would have stayed knocked down and stuck in my Candyce ways, I would have never met all of the amazing kiddos that God has brought into my life. I have blessed them in ways that I would have never imagined in a million years and vice versa. Continue to watch God happen in your life so that you can live a thriving lifestyle!!! Love y’all 😘

1 Peter 4:10

Each one should use whatever gift He has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.

The race is on! Round & Around we go!

image

Philippians 3:13-14

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

This would be a great soul searching point to figure out what you are chasing after. Take some time to consult God to show you your heart ❤️. This will show you what you are truly chasing after in your life.

I will tell you that it’s not an easy pill to swallow IF what you’re chasing after things that are not in God’s will for your life. He will show you that your path is not the designed path that He created you to walk on. Trust me I have been on a path of obtaining everything that I wanted and thought would make me live a successful fulfilled life. Which left little room for God which was when I needed Him to come in a fix the hot mess of my life that I was creating. It wasn’t until I asked Him to show me the plan/path that He designed for me, that I actually felt joy, peace and guidance like no other. God had to completely shake up/detour my plans in order to unveil the once viewed as a road block that was under construction part of my path/life. View it as a new road that is new and less traveled with a mixture of beautiful scenery with some mysterious destinations that will become unveiled once you get to that location on your path. If you find yourself chasing after a career, a spouse, letters behind your name, fame, money etc. and you do not have God anywhere or He’s a very small part of your race, make Him first. I’m not saying that having all of those things is against God’s plan but if you didn’t seek Him first then it will all be in vain. Rememeber the Scripture that says only what we do for Christ will last. Those good works that were done out of self gratification and to show off for others will do us no good in heaven. It’s all about lining our priorities up with God’s priorities and not our own. He will show you your purpose IF you seek Him.

So I ask what are you chasing after in your life? The race was on the second you came into this world. We are all running our own race on different paths that hopefully ultimately lead to the greatest finish line of all times. I say hopefully because I pray that you all have accepted Christ as your personal savior so that you can cross that great finish line into eternity! 🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁

Here are some steps to running a purpose driven race: 🏃👟
1. Seek God first in everything you do at all times Matthew 6:33
2. Pray/talk to God as often as you talk to someone that is close to you.
3. Build your relationship with Him.
4. Ask yourself if what you are chasing after will be a testimony to others to show how wonderful God is.
5. Understand that you will be uncomfortable and there will be a lot of stretching you as a person to become who God created you to be.
6. Stay encouraged through the disappointments.
7. Remind yourself that you will only be on this side of heaven for a short time and only what you do for Christ will last. Heaven is full of blessings and rewards for the faithful believers.

Are you wearing GOD-GGLES?

image

Have you ever wondered how it really looks to show love to others? Over the past few years I have discovered how to love everyone like God commands us to. Trust me when I tell you that it is not an easy task. When you look at them through the eyes of God, your whole outlook changes. That is when the compassion steps in and softening of  your heart steps in. Again this is no easy task that you can do on your own, keep God on your mind and practice showing this love to the world. ❤️🌍🌎❤️

Helpful tools and benefits to help with wearing your God-ggles:
1. Remember the love that God has for you.

2. Recall the non loving things that you have done and said to people. Remember how they still love you inspite of your faults.

3. Your outlook on life will be a much lighter and cheerful one.

4. Fun to be around due to your loving nature.

5. Patience level will increase.

6. Discernment will be sole dictator of your existence due to the wisdom that you gain from God.

7. You will truly understand God’s love and be able to show it.

8. You will be able to spot distractions and be able to fight temptations.

These are just some benefits to wearing your God-ggles. You will have better than 20/20 vision!!!

Don’t leave home without your God-ggles each day 👓 🏠 you need them to go along with your full armor of God.

Ephesians 6:10-18New American Standard Bible (NASB)

The Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against [a]flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 [b]in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 [c]With all prayer and petition [d]pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, [e]be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,
