This little light of mine….. Part II

Last night as I’m sitting at the stop light waiting for it to change, I was confused by all of the green lights that were shining when my light turned green. The confusion moment that I experienced showed me that even though light was present, it caused confusion to me because I didn’t process the timing of them being synced. At times in our lives, yes our lights are shining but they are off synced with God’s plan and purpose for us. Take time to get back in sync with God and make sure the light is shining with His control panel. I’m not saying that it’s necessarily a bad thing to have the light out of sync because it should caused you to pause and allow that conviction to do its job. Having those convictions were created to steer us back to our Father. Admit that getting out of sync with God caused you to be confused and that you are going to get back on track with him. Another thing that God revealed to me about all of those green lights that I experienced last night, was Him giving me the green light to keep going pursing my dreams and that He has already gone ahead of me to make that happen. I invite you to truly seek God’s will for your life and allow Him to speak to you. It’s all about building that intimacy with Him. His desires will become your desires if you fully let Him in. Invite Him in so He can unpack a become a permanent resident.

SPOTLIGHT VERSE:

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin 1 John1:7

Have you ever wondered why when you meet or are around someone who is full of joy, causes you to feel extremely comfortable around them and happy? That person or persons are living in the light of Christ. The “comfortable” feeling  that they are experiencing is God’s light. When I was living in darkness, I didn’t appreciate and fully understand the meaning of the light. That caused me to try and avoid the light or most times I would just tolerate it and put my shades on to block it out as long as I could. I pray that you understand what I was saying. Are you wearing your sun shades right now or in constant search of some sort of shade? I’m here to tell you that being in the presence of the light and walking in the light is the way that God created us. He created us to be dependent on it and without it, unfortunately we will never live a fruitful purposeful life that He designed us to experience. I don’t know about you, but I want to experience all of the blessings that God has for me on this earth. It’s the only way to live! So be encouraged my friend…It’s not too late to turn towards the light and take off those sun shades.

Kissing my 20’s Goodbye………..

image

Day 4: Let me first start off by saying… God has a way of putting you where HE needs you to be and with whom HE needs you to cross paths with. Monday was such a refreshing and fun day. So exactly a year ago when I moved back to Houston, I was asked to join a mentor group for middle school aged kids. I was very reluctant to do it at first. When you have a calling on your life, God is going to place you where He needs you to be even if you aren’t open to it. That’s exactly what He did and I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ MY FIVE STAR FAMILY 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. Not only do we mentor the child, we show them Christ and they get an opportunity to accept Him at a summer camp. My passion and purpose is for young girls that need guidance and godly advice. They need a positive role model in their lives and a listening ear. God designed me to be in this position to do that. I am grateful that He created others to do the same thing. Ok so back to my day, we had a coaches meeting to discuss how we can take things to a whole other level with the kiddos. Afterwards we decided to go to one of my favorite restaurants to hang out and start the week of my birthday celebration. We had a blast and new friendships were created along with the deepening of others. I am so blessed to have such selfless people that I can actually call my friends. Monday was a great day!!!!!

Day 3: The Five Star 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 kick off… Well I’m not going to lie and say that I had the best attitude going into the school. I was totally excited but I wasn’t in the right frame of mind. That happens when the enemy tries to knock you off of your purpose path. So my focus was on the wrong thing. I was caught up in numbers and why I had so many girls which again losing focus on the bigger picture. I was getting frustrated because they were talking too much not listening etc. So I said a quick prayer so I didn’t go off and say the wrong thing that would ruin my ministry. So during our group time I talked to them and stated some things I observed and what needs to change and we were good. They opened up about some things and you guys know about my sensitivity levels rising LoL, it caused me to get a little emotional because God opened my eyes to why I had so many girls and why I had these particular ones. I’m who they need to stand in the gap for them and pray for them. They need so much that only God can give. He is using me to be His vessel. I know that it is not about me. And it amazes me how my perspective has completely flipped. It’s not all about Candyce… It’s about building God’s kingdom by any means necessary. Also let me tell you how sneaky the enemy is… My plan was to go to a Bible study after I left the school. So it was much later than the time I should have left in order to be on time so I was debating if I should go or not. I’ve me learned that when I start questioning things, that’s the enemy trying to block me from hearing a word of God. So I went anyways and y’all when I tell you EVERYTHING that I had been struggling I with and needed God’s answers was talked about. I love it when God works like that because it’s like he is personally taking that moment to speak to you. My heart was full ❤️

Day 2: Giving back is what I have a passion for. So in lieu of me turning 30, I decided to get a group of friends together to go help out at the Houston Food Bank where we packed 1940 backpack buddy meals for students don’t get food over the weekend. We were able to bless them. So let me tell you about my amazing friends, they came out to help and gave their time to help feed someone else. Black is my favorite color so I asked them to wear black with me so we could stick out together LoL. We had a system going we were dancing, singing having a blast while packing food for the less fortunate families. I would recommend getting a group together and help out anyway you can. Ok here’s my sensitivity moment… They decided to show a YouTube video on the backpack buddies program. Oh boy why did they do that? They had me and a couple of my friends in my group (I’m not going to mention any names *cough cough*) all teary eyed. I’m guessing they decided to show us that so we can know the great impact that it has on the community. I just love the kids and kids are my business!! And to top it off we got sponsors from Torchy’s Taco to feed us. There was over 150 volunteers. Oh and being apart of the Houston food bank Young professionals group has helped me to stay involved. I’m on the programming committee so we plan amazing events like our Helpie hour from last night. I challenge you to get involved in your town and make an impact in the lives of others….

STAY TUNED…

The race is on! Round & Around we go!

image

Philippians 3:13-14

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

This would be a great soul searching point to figure out what you are chasing after. Take some time to consult God to show you your heart ❤️. This will show you what you are truly chasing after in your life.

I will tell you that it’s not an easy pill to swallow IF what you’re chasing after things that are not in God’s will for your life. He will show you that your path is not the designed path that He created you to walk on. Trust me I have been on a path of obtaining everything that I wanted and thought would make me live a successful fulfilled life. Which left little room for God which was when I needed Him to come in a fix the hot mess of my life that I was creating. It wasn’t until I asked Him to show me the plan/path that He designed for me, that I actually felt joy, peace and guidance like no other. God had to completely shake up/detour my plans in order to unveil the once viewed as a road block that was under construction part of my path/life. View it as a new road that is new and less traveled with a mixture of beautiful scenery with some mysterious destinations that will become unveiled once you get to that location on your path. If you find yourself chasing after a career, a spouse, letters behind your name, fame, money etc. and you do not have God anywhere or He’s a very small part of your race, make Him first. I’m not saying that having all of those things is against God’s plan but if you didn’t seek Him first then it will all be in vain. Rememeber the Scripture that says only what we do for Christ will last. Those good works that were done out of self gratification and to show off for others will do us no good in heaven. It’s all about lining our priorities up with God’s priorities and not our own. He will show you your purpose IF you seek Him.

So I ask what are you chasing after in your life? The race was on the second you came into this world. We are all running our own race on different paths that hopefully ultimately lead to the greatest finish line of all times. I say hopefully because I pray that you all have accepted Christ as your personal savior so that you can cross that great finish line into eternity! 🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁

Here are some steps to running a purpose driven race: 🏃👟
1. Seek God first in everything you do at all times Matthew 6:33
2. Pray/talk to God as often as you talk to someone that is close to you.
3. Build your relationship with Him.
4. Ask yourself if what you are chasing after will be a testimony to others to show how wonderful God is.
5. Understand that you will be uncomfortable and there will be a lot of stretching you as a person to become who God created you to be.
6. Stay encouraged through the disappointments.
7. Remind yourself that you will only be on this side of heaven for a short time and only what you do for Christ will last. Heaven is full of blessings and rewards for the faithful believers.

Do you want the real deal or a knockoff?

image

🚪🚪🚪🚪🚪🚪🚪🚪🚪🚪🚪🚪🚪🚪🚪 Settling for imitations of love are like all of these closed doors. You are dancing in the hallways of “bliss” & “happiness” only to realize that you don’t have the right key 🔑 to open any of those doors. All of those doors represent something different in each of our lives. For example, one door could represent a relationship that you have invested so much time and wasted energy that functions outside of the will of God. Another door could be a job that you have but it’s not stretching or growing you into your purpose. Or a door that was closed by God in order to protect you from what you thought you wanted. Whatever these closed doors represent to you is something that you are going to have to take to God in prayer and ask him to show you why they are closed.

When we settle for knock offs, we are telling God that we don’t deserve His best for us and that we are ok with whatever comes our way. If it doesn’t line up with God’s word then it is an imitation and we should have no part of that. Knowing your true worth and value has nothing to do with monetary values and materialistic views, it comes from knowing that Jesus died to save us from these knock offs that fill our hearts with lies.

Romans 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Lies that say you should do whatever you can while you can, you’re only young for a short while so do it, this person really loves you so accept it and love them back even if they are living contrary to God, your biological clock is ticking so hurry up and get a man/woman no matter what his/her view point is of God etc. And the list goes on and on of these imitations. So I’m asking you, do you know what true love is and what does that look like in your life? You have to be careful with those knock offs because they not only will lead to those closed doors everytime but heartache, stress, possible drugs and emptiness just to name a few. Trying to use those knock offs as the real deal will only lead to mediocrity and disappointments. There’s no way the hallway  “bliss” dance will ever supply you with the REAL love that God has for you.

His love will unlock those doors and will never be a knock off! I have been a victim of accepting the knock offs and dancing in the “blissful” hallway thinking that I was really enjoying life and “making things happen”. I had to learn what God’s love really meant and how that looked in my life. Accepting His real love will change your whole approach on life (relationships, attitudes, how you treat people, walking in your purpose, experience joy, eternal gain and kingdom building etc.) Walking through those doors will take you to another level in experiencing God’s love. He will never stop loving us no matter what BUT to understand and feel His love requires the imitations to be thrown out. When you love someone or something you naturally give your best and do not want to mess anything up. Give God your best and share His love to others so they can stop accepting the knock offs.

Which face do you wear the most?

image

Which face represents worry?

Luke 12:22-25
Do Not Worry
22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! 25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life[a]?

If you find yourself worrying about different things, that means you are lacking trust in God. I still struggle from time to time with worrying. When I find myself worrying or as soon as an ounce of worry starts to creep in, I go to God and ask for forgiveness and that my trust will be renewed. I use to be the Queen of  Worrisomeville (a made-up  place that I use to reside in). I’ve had to learn that God has everything under control for my life. That learning process was not an easy one at all, it took me from my comfort zone and security into nothing land. God showed me that I must trust Him to deliver the plans that He has for me and that no man could EVER do what He did and is continously doing in my life.  So stay in His will and get in the passengers seat and listen to the pilot. Trust that He will never leave you nor forsake you.

All 4 of those faces in my picture represents my life journey and how God has transformed me into the Candyce that I am today. I still have more growing to do and I encourage you to grow as well!

Watch God happen & LOVE U!
(Watch God happens means to stand back and watch Him work while doing your part by growing in Him to be able to see His hand in everything).

Holy Spirit Self-Check!!!

The Holy Spirit Self-Check List!!!

Have you ever wondered if and when the Holy Spirit dwells in you? Well I have and I just had an Ahh HAAA moment. Just recently I shared with you guys about my experience with the Pathway to hope family camp and how God had been preparing me for that journey. Well it never occurred to me that along with my studying and obedience, He had my better half aka The Holy Spirit working as well. I don’t know why I didn’t put 2 and 2 together then, but He revealed the secret Self-Check List. The easiest way to know if the Holy Spirit is dwelling inside of you is to simply check your heart. Is it full of Love, Joy, Patience, Kindness, Gentleness, Goodness, Self-control, Faithfulness and Peace? If you are full of those 9, then you are filled with the Holy Spirit. Notice that it is NOT called the FRUITS of the Spirit. It is singular FRUIT meaning they are all one and can be shown at one time. Jesus was a walking fruit basket in this sense, we should be one too!!!
🍌🍎🍊🍋🍇🍍🍓🍐🍉= Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit will not be present where sin is present. Make sure you confess those sins using 1 John 1:9 that states But if we confess our sins, He will be both faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Galatians 5:22-24 MSG But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely. Legalism is helpless in bringing this about; it only gets in the way. Among those who belong to Christ, everything connected with getting our own way and mindlessly responding to what everyone else calls necessities is killed off for good—crucified.

The Message bible explains the fruit of the spirit very well within the context. Make sure that you have the holy spirit dwelling inside of you. There are certain areas in our lives that we could have show a little more of a particular fruit. I know the type of person that I am, which is not very patient and kind at times. I thank God for granting me with the right spirit that allows me to keep shining the Light/Jesus that is within me. I am so grateful for God’s continual guidance, grace and mercy!!
