The journey continues…

Woooooooow yesterday marked my 9 month journey here in NEW YORK… I can’t believe it!! As you can see from the GIF below, this expresses my reaction to that thought mixed with tears and gratitude to God.

For the past few weeks I have been in some rather unique situations that have led me to doing A LOT of reevaluating my purpose, my move, my future and so many more things. The most interesting situation so far has been that of me seeing why God moved me 1,500 miles away from the known and placed me dead smack in the middle of the unknown. The why has blown my mind and has overtaken me in such a way that I have never experienced before. As I am typing this my eyes are full of tears of gratitude to God for even thinking that I am worthy enough to help carry out such a huge plan that He has for His children. That goes for each of you as well. When you start to feel less than or start to question why am I in this place doing this… The answer is that God wants you to show this world the masterpiece that He has created within you. Your smile, your kindness, your love, your personality, your talents, your beauty, your style, your voice, your creativity, your gentleness, your generosity and the list goes on and on about what this world needs to see because of the God within you.

Some pretty amazing opportunities have occurred for me that I would’ve never experienced if I were still in my known/comfort zone. Don’t get me wrong, moving outside of your comfort zone will bring pain, fear, tears, beauty, growth and vulnerability but through this journey which I still face daily, God’s promises stay the same. My go to scripture is Matthew 6:25-26

25That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life–whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?

26Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?

I never realized how much a worried until I decided to take this faith walk journey and all I could depend on was God My Source to provide the resources that I needed exactly at the times that I needed them. By me doing my part of working and doing as I am instructed to do, led to doors of opportunities that led to more resources. I struggle daily with not worrying and doing what I was sent here to do but I remind myself along with some pretty awesome people that are in my life, that I need God to help me in those moments of weakness.

As I sit here and think about all the people that I’ve met since I’ve moved here, reminds me that these types of connections and relationships don’t just happen everyday. God connected us all together for such a time as this and I am forever grateful. When you allow God to write your story and not get ahead of Him, you will experience a crazy amount of peace and it will make it easier to trust Him more and more. The next blog post topic will be on trust and boy oh boy do I have plenty of stories about that. You’ll have to check on back with that new topic of discussion.

Always remember that you will have struggles, disappointments, highs and lows in life and they are only here to mold you into the best version which is the masterpiece God created before this world began. So show this world proudly who God is and how His way is the only way that works by creating Kingdom success/fruitfulness.

Please leave a comment below on your experiences with moving out of your comfort zone. Can’t wait to read them!! Praying for each of you and if you have any special prayer requests, feel free to contact me and I would love to join you in prayer.

‘Til next time my loves… Be the change that you wish to see!!

I wasn’t readyyyyy!!!

image

One of my favorite comedians is Kevin Hart. He has a lot of funny sayings and this one is one of my faves. Well anyways I thought that it would be perfect with this post because I definitely WAS NOT ready for love and Godly relationships.

Song of Solomon 2:7 (MSG) Oh, let me warn you, sisters in Jerusalem, by the gazelles, yes, by all the wild deer: Don’t excite love, don’t stir it up, until the time is ripe-and you’re ready.

As I read this scripture last week for a daily devotional, it hit me like a ton a bricks because I never understood why I would never be fully open and vulnerable while dating and vice versa. There seemed to be a wall up on both sides and an emptiness that would never become filled. My understanding of what true love was ❤️ and how to love was not something that I was really taught in details growing up. It was something that I saw on some occasions and mimicked but did not truly grasp it. I also did not love myself in the manner that God wanted me to and that really led to so many heartaches and disappointments. I got fed up with all of the of the dead end relationships and emptiness. Once I started desiring more of God by studying His word and understanding what love looks like, my heart began to soften up and began to be healed. My heart had to become broken in order for my transformation to begin. This was not a quick fix healing process because I was carrying sooooooo much baggage and didn’t even realize it. It’s taken YEARS to get to the point that I am at now. The thoughts about my past hurts don’t shake my emotions and feelings up like they did before. Understanding and being obedient to God’s word will help you make better decisions and will lead you down the right path.

Here are some tips to become open to God’s L❤️ VE:

SPEND TIME IN PRAYER THROUGHOUT YOUR DAY. ⌛⏰ 🙏

START A JOURNAL AND JUST SHARE YOUR FEELINGS AND THOUGHTS. 📖✒

SPEND TIME OUTSIDE LOOKING AT ALL OF GOD’S CREATIONS AND HOW HE PROVIDES FOR ALL CREATION. 🌞⛅🌹🌻🐒 🐶

SLOW YOUR LIFE DOWN & BE STILL. 🛀📵

PRAY FOR SIGNS MEANING PRAY THAT GOD WILL SHOW YOU WHAT YOU’VE BEEN PRAYING FOR. 🙏

LISTEN TO OTHERS. GOD USES OTHERS TO HELP US OR SEND COMFIRMATION.👂

TALK TO GOD AND SHARE YOUR HEART ❤️

APPLY WHAT YOU’VE READ AND LIVE IT OUT AND WATCH THE TRANSFORMATION OCCUR IN YOUR LIFE. 👀

SING THE SONG JESUS LOVES ME 🎤🎶🎶🎵🎵

Now back to the title I wasn’t readyyyy, God revealed to me that I was in no shape or fashion to be in a healthy loving Godly relationship before. I thank God for the time that He has given me to get my heart right and so I can have healthy relationships with everyone (friendships, church family, mentee’s, family etc.) I can tell a major difference in all of my relationships all due to God working in my life and changing my heart. As messed up as my “love” life was, God has used it to be able to share it with you guys to help you out whether you’re married or single. If you’re not healing from your past, you will continue to pour your junk into your new relationships. Take my advice and DON’T do it, it hurts the other person in the end and prolongs your healing and growth process! Be encouraged and continue to seek God in all that you do!  God will reveal when you are healed. If you don’t wait on Him more heartache and being outside of His plan for your life will continue to be the driving source of your self destructive life. It’s best to know if you are READYYYY by doing a heart check with God!

GOD TOOK MY 💔 BROKENNESS AND MADE ME 💓 WHOLE!!!

Holy Spirit Self-Check!!!

The Holy Spirit Self-Check List!!!

Have you ever wondered if and when the Holy Spirit dwells in you? Well I have and I just had an Ahh HAAA moment. Just recently I shared with you guys about my experience with the Pathway to hope family camp and how God had been preparing me for that journey. Well it never occurred to me that along with my studying and obedience, He had my better half aka The Holy Spirit working as well. I don’t know why I didn’t put 2 and 2 together then, but He revealed the secret Self-Check List. The easiest way to know if the Holy Spirit is dwelling inside of you is to simply check your heart. Is it full of Love, Joy, Patience, Kindness, Gentleness, Goodness, Self-control, Faithfulness and Peace? If you are full of those 9, then you are filled with the Holy Spirit. Notice that it is NOT called the FRUITS of the Spirit. It is singular FRUIT meaning they are all one and can be shown at one time. Jesus was a walking fruit basket in this sense, we should be one too!!!
🍌🍎🍊🍋🍇🍍🍓🍐🍉= Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit will not be present where sin is present. Make sure you confess those sins using 1 John 1:9 that states But if we confess our sins, He will be both faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Galatians 5:22-24 MSG But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely. Legalism is helpless in bringing this about; it only gets in the way. Among those who belong to Christ, everything connected with getting our own way and mindlessly responding to what everyone else calls necessities is killed off for good—crucified.

The Message bible explains the fruit of the spirit very well within the context. Make sure that you have the holy spirit dwelling inside of you. There are certain areas in our lives that we could have show a little more of a particular fruit. I know the type of person that I am, which is not very patient and kind at times. I thank God for granting me with the right spirit that allows me to keep shining the Light/Jesus that is within me. I am so grateful for God’s continual guidance, grace and mercy!!
